Patricia Gousse is a wife and mother of six children. She became an advocate for natural and out of hospital births due to her own Birthing Journey. As a young mother, she endured two unnecessary cesarean births. These two birth experiences included being in a time where women of color were and still have the highest rates of C-Sections. During her third pregnancy, she collaborated with a Midwife and OBGYN for a successful hospital VBAC. Continuing self- growth and immersing herself in the home birthing community; she continued collaborative care and had three amazing homebirth VBAC's.
She volunteered with WIC as a peer breastfeeding counselor and saw a great need for expanding resources for childbirth education amongst underserved communities. Patricia formally began her education and training after weaning her last child. She is a State of Florida Graduate Midwife and a professional Full Spectrum Birthworker. Patricia, also known as "Eliyeynay" holds over 25 years of experience in providing holistic women health, education, and supportive services for moms before, during, and after birth. Her works throughout Florida communities include advocacy efforts for women's health and maternity rights. She loves spending her free time with her family, gardening, and raising livestock.
